I'm Nick, the founder of Overtone. I've needed hearing aids since I was 10 years old, and I've never wanted to wear them.
For me, the technology was never the problem. The design was. Hearing aids are built to be hidden behind the ear, in skin- or hair-tone plastic, as if enhancing your hearing is something to be ashamed of.
Glasses went through the same shift. Once a medical necessity, they've became something people choose for how they look.
Hearing deserves the same.
